Details: Vinci were awarded Staffordshire University’s £40 million flagship building back in 2019. Morris Fabrications Ltd were awarded the metalwork package, as well as the prestigious feature helical staircase.
Works included;
- Feature helical staircase with solid curved plate balustrade (clear ppc tint lacquer finish), plus rolled stainless steel handrail
- Vertical infill flat bar balustrade to mezzanine floor edges/voids
- Internal access ladders
- Plant steelwork and decking (open grille)
- Back of House steel stairs/utility stairs
- Key clamp galvanised balustrade
- Steel bulkheads for partitions
- Various secondary steelworks
The feature staircase design, fabrication and installation stages were not without their challenges, but with our can-do attitude, strong leadership and close working with various engineers, designers and specialists we completed the project on time and to budget – an absolutely show-stopping staircase was the end result.
